A long drive took us to Holy Island. Donning boots and full waterproofs we set off from the car park. From the village of Lindisfarne we made our way in the rain to Lindisfarne Castle. It was quite interesting inside, but the opportunity to be out of the rain was probably the main draw! It was still raining as we arrived back at the car!
The castle at Bamburgh was covered in scaffolding but as we made our way past it to the beach the rain stopped and the sun came out. The skyscape was stunning.
We spent some time on the beach. We had views back to Lindisfarne Castle, views out to sea of the Farne Islands and lovely scenes of the beach.
