A really good early start! The fuel situation was so low that I really needed to make my first stop a garage. I was directed to a tiny run-down place not far from the hotel. It wasn’t due to open until 9.30am but I chose to wait. The alternative was a long detour to Dunoon (and back). 10.00am came and went and I gave up. As I was driving off, the garage owner arrived! My early start was wasted, but at least I had fuel!
At Southend were the Keil Caves, St.Colomba’s Footprints and the shell of the Keil Hotel.
