Holiday in Wales - Day 5

A wet and windy day.  We needed full waterproofs and walking boots for a brief visit to Barmouth.  We were able to shelter behind some public toilets to get a few pictures of the Barmouth Bridge and the town.  The wind was blowing sand off the beach and it was so strong that it was difficult to walk!  Our visit was very brief.

We were fairly confident that the wind would not blow Harlech Castle down, but it was strong enough for it to have closed for the protection of the public.  We took a few pictures in the town and then drove around to see if we could get a good view of the castle - we failed!

On the way back to Tal-y-Llyn we called in at the George III hotel at Penmaenpool for lunch.  Since our previous stays there it has been much changed - not all bad!

Second night of four at the Ty'n y Cornell hotel
