The women's 1st XV dominated and won their league - Women's Championship North 1. For promotion to the next league the play-offs were between the top two teams of that league and the Women's Championship South 1 league. In the semi-final games Thurrock (winners in the south) had a bye against Lichfield (runner-up in the north). Cheltenham's gave was against the runner-up team from the south - Old Albanian Saints (from St Albans).
It proved to be a bruising and highly competitive match. A Tigers' player was given a red card, then a Saints player had a yellow card, the a Tigers' yellow and lastly another yellow for the Saints. With just three minutes remaining the Tigers were losing and would need two converted tries to win. They did it! A thrilling end!
