Another visit to Queen's Wood as part of my preparations for Autumn-Anna's bluebell photoshoot. The starting point for this route recce was the pylons on Cleeve Hill. Initially I thought this would be a good place to start, but the long twisting route to the pylons coupled with the messy and difficult parking put me off. Easter Bank Holiday Monday may be a particularly busy time than usual, but this is no longer my favoured route to the woods. The walk across Cleeve Hill was into the teeth of a bitterly cold wind, but fortunately the woods themselves were very sheltered. The time taken to reach the woods was also longer than I had anticipated, despite being downhill!
Bluebells were appearing in more than ones and twos. During the hour or so that I spent looking for routes through the woods and for picture spots I only met two other people - a local couple walking their dog. The fully expected the bluebells to be in their full glory in a couple of weeks. They also said that the woods were not heavily visited even with the flowers in full bloom and even then it was mainly frequented by locals.
Although I took quite a few pictures in colour of suitable photoshoot picture spots it was this set of monochrome features that I chose to display here.
