Nash Point

As part of the planning for a shoot with Nadine at Nash Point I opted to pay it a visit.  The date and timing of the planned shoot was due to include a high tide and so for safety reasons I chose this visit to be when I could see the place at high tide.  In particular I wanted to be able to see when the 'beach' west of the headland was safe to use.  To see that area it was necessary to get onto the rocky headland itself.  Unfortunately the whole area was in use by some filming for Doctor Who and that meant I had to wait for them to break for lunch before getting down to the beach and onto the headland.  Quite how the high tide behaves west of the headland I'm still not sure since it was nearly two hours after the high tide that I was able to see that part of the coast.

The day planned for our shoot has a lower high tide (by about 50cms) and so the identified way of getting off the headland will be even safer - that's if we don't manage to get off in time to avoid wet feet.

The lighthouses are a short walk from the beach and not really suited to our photoshoot ideas, but I did pay a visit and identified a few spots that might give a decent background - just in case!

Since I was down on the Welsh coast, Nadine and I chose to put together a photoshoot at Southerndown beach towards the end of the afternoon.
